Ardmel is an intimate apparel manufacturer, developing bonded lingerie and underwear for brands from the first design through sampling and bulk production at our facility in the Biyagama Export Processing Zone. For a US-market brand we have run a complete bonded underwear program: design and development, raw material sourcing, bulk production and a standard operating procedure for quality. The same machines, adhesives and SOPs are available to factories that want to bond intimates on their own lines.
Heat-activated films bond hems, waistbands and leg openings flat, replacing elastic and stitching for a no-show edge.
Laser-Cut Raw Edges
Laser cutting seals the edge of microfiber and synthetic lace, so briefs and bralettes can be left raw without fraying.
Dotted PUR adhesive bonds layers while keeping them soft and breathable, for bra wings, cups and shapewear panels.
Thread-free seams on synthetic fabrics, for underwear and base layers that need a flat, flexible join.

Sample and Fit Development
We make and refine samples until the fit, stretch and edge finish meet your standard.
Wash and Peel Testing
Bonded samples are tested for peel strength and wash durability before bulk is approved.
Bulk Production with an SOP
Production runs to a written SOP, with settings checked every two hours and peel tests on bands, wings and leg openings.

What is bonded underwear?
Bonded underwear is made by joining fabric with heat-activated adhesive instead of thread. Edges, waistbands and leg openings lie flat, so the garment stays invisible under clothing and has no seams to rub.
Will bonded seams survive washing?
Yes, when the adhesive is matched to the fabric and the process is controlled. We test bonded samples for peel strength and wash durability before bulk, and check machine settings every two hours in production.
