Protective Clothing Manufacturer with Its Own Sealing Technology
Ardmel builds seam sealing machines and produces seam tapes, so the seams on your protective clothing are set up by the people who make the equipment. The same processes are available to PPE factories that want to run them on their own lines.
Tape sealed over stitched seams to close needle holes against water and liquids.
FR Taping
Flame-resistant tapes for FR garments, matched to the garment fabric.
Chemical-Resistant Seam Construction
Tapes and adhesives selected for the chemicals and cleaning the garment will face.
Bonded patches at knees and seat on coveralls and protective pants.
Protective Garments and the Seam Construction Behind Them
Your garment’s protection standard sets the requirement. We build each seam to your specification, run the seam tests below and share the results. Hazard tests and certification stay with your accredited test house:
| Garment | Seam construction | Tested for |
|---|---|---|
| Chemical protective suits and coveralls | Sealed seams with chemical-resistant tape | Seam strength and water penetration (chemical tests by your test house) |
| FR jackets, trousers and coveralls | Stitched seams with FR taping | Seam strength and wash durability |
| Hi-vis jackets and vests | Heat-applied reflective tape and bonded trims | Peel strength and wash durability |
| Protective rainwear | Fully taped seams | Hydrostatic head and wash durability |
| Safety gloves | Sealed or bonded glove seams | Peel strength and water penetration |
From Protection Standard to Bulk: How We Make Protective Clothing
Standard and Specification
We start from the protection standard and test method your garment has to meet, and the fabric it uses.
Seam Design
We decide which seams to seal, tape or bond, and choose the tape or adhesive for the fabric and the hazard.
Sampling and Testing
Samples are tested for seam strength, peel strength, water penetration and wash durability, using ISO and AATCC methods or yours.
Bulk Production
Garments are made in our Sri Lanka facility, with settings recorded in a production SOP.
In-Line Quality Checks
Settings are checked every two hours in bulk, with peel tests on taped seams and hydrostatic tests on sealed seams.
